Sam has chicken pox

We just started out the summer and already we are on hold! Sammy got chicken pox. It’s already been the longest four days, and I believe we have about 7 more to go, or until everything has healed over. It’s been pretty stressful, because she doesn’t want to eat, and we already have enough issues with eating. It makes it especially hard with her being an allergy kid. She has them in her mouth and every time she eats, I see tears coming down her face. Alex is being really good considering the circumstances. I’m not really sure what to do with him. I’m worried he may contract them, so he is stuck in the house with us, hibernating the summer away. Hopefully it’s over fast for us. My kids have been through so much this year, they definitely need a break. If you pray, I’ll ask you to say some prayers for good health for my family. I’m going to stay positive and thankful that things aren’t worse. So far we are watching movies playing board games and trying to keep everything clean.

Bridal Shoot at Inspirador

The wonderful Keri Dolittle invited me to shoot along with her on a bridal modeling shoot. It was absolutely a wonderful experience and the location Inspirador is a spectacular venue to host a wedding or party. I can honestly say it was an amazing experience to have someone who posed themselves so gracefully and really was an amazing model, I see big things for Karen the model. It doesn’t hurt she’s drop dead gorgeous. I’d trade her bodies in a heart beat.

We had a blast in downtown Phoenix, and walked around for a long time. Tammy is such a special young woman, I can hardly believe she wanted me to take her pictures. Not only is she incredibly beautiful, she’s one of the top 20 students in her class of probably 1000 kids. She is involved in a lot of clubs, and is almost complete with her second year of college, and she is only graduating high school in a few weeks. I love to see people succeed, and I know Tammy will do great things with her life.

Here is that sad pic of my Little Ham sitting in the hospital bed. Mike snapped this with his phone. I’m glad she’s getting better, we are just waiting for results from today’s procedure. She had an endoscopy and a colonoscopy done.

An Exhausting week!

From Monday until today, I have spent the entire time next to my daughter in a hospital room. She was lying helpless because her intestines just stopped working. It was a hard week of ups and downs. Thankfully, it was an issue that had an answer. It also didn’t involve surgery that we thought was going to happen, but we prayed it wouldn’t be necessary. Even though the problem has been cared for, it is not over, and will likely be something she will be dealing with for a long time. My poor baby, has had it rough. Food Allergies, and all. I just want her healthy. I’m pretty tired now, I’ll post a hospital picture of her later.

This Time Last Year!

From one year to the next, it’s all going by so fast. I swear I took this picture yesterday, but as my mind is failing. I realize one year has past. He has changed mentally, physically. Each passing moment he is soaking up the world, getting to know it. I feel blessed to be the mother of a child who has faith in God. I feel blessed that he loves the bible. I feel blessed to see my little boy grow up. As I watched him complete milestones, that at times seemed impossible, he took on the challenge. He makes me so proud. I can see who he is becoming and I’m so excited for him. I look forward to hearing his music, and watching him dance, and play football. These are things he loves, and the things he chose by himself to love. His laughter is infectious, his hugs are pure warmth, and his friendship is forever.

Spotlight on my favorite Music!

Well I can’t say that I have a favorite type of music. I just love it all. I hear words that say something. I hear a beat that feels good to dance to. This week, I just wanted to spotlight two awesome artists, http://www.reginaspektor.com/index2.html - Regina Spektor, and Missy Higgins (no relation to me, lol) http://www.missyhiggins.com/ !! Regina’s song “The Call” gives me goosebumps. She is definitely a talented musician, and I always look forward to hearing her music. Her voice is definitely a unique instrument and I can always tell its her when she sings. Something I wish American Idol would catch onto. Looking for voices that are unique, and developed.

Missy Higgins is unique in her own right. Straight out of Australia, she sings with so much soul. I listen so intently to “Where I stood” I can feel the words like I was part of the music too. I love music like this. I think singer/songwriters are definitely not given enough credit or praise.

After watching MTV’s “Taking the Stage” I honestly look forward to the music Mia will bring to the music industry. Although I don’t agree with the whole love triangle in the show, I think the talent is completely real.

Well that’s my take on Music for the moment.

Poetry in music will always capture the soul of those listen.

The First of Many

My little boy is now loving photography, and he really wants a photowall of star wars figurines in his room. So he was practicing with my xti. I had to keep reminding him about being careful, he’s kind of a “faller” lol! I’m sure he’s going to get much more creative with his shots, the tricky part of this picture was making sure his little sis did not touch anything, because they kept falling over.
